Description
The Forest Grove Urban Renewal Agency created the Storefront Improvement Grant Program to help businesses and property owners improve building facades. The program typically funds the replacement of awnings, signs, exterior building lighting, or decorative architectural details. Please remember funds are limited. See website for details.
Eligibility
Must be eligible work that provides exterior improvements or rehabilitation intended to restore facades and exteriors.
The following are examples of eligible work:
Replacement, repair or alteration of building exteriors (facades) or elements such as doors or windows; Awning repair or replacement;
Exterior or interior storefront display lighting improvements;
Repair or replacement of awnings, cornices or decorative details;
Masonry repair or cleaning;
Sign repair, replacement, installation or removal;
Sidewalk repair or replacement;
Installation of street furniture.
Examples of Ineligible Activities:
Property maintenance (washing, scrubbing, general maintenance, etc.);
Building acquisition;
Inventory or other working capital;
Administrative costs or payments to borrower;
New development.
