Jodi Monroy

Jodi Monroy works for the Adelante Mujeres team as the Market Access Manager. She grew up on an orchard in Yamhill County and has a deep respect for agriculture and natural cycles. She has simple gustos and likes to spend time with people she cares about, cooking, reading, resting, and doing anything water-related. After a deportation, she spent over seven years living in Querétaro, Mexico, which gave her a cultural and linguistic knowledge that shaped and changed her worldview more deeply than any formal education ever could have.

She has a background in economic development, specifically building empowering spaces for immigrant and refugee communities, including program design and implementation of outdoor markets, retail spaces, construction, online marketplaces, and more. In addition to her passion for economic justice, she has a passion for youth development, particularly youth who have been negatively system-impacted, and she also has about 10 years of experience in public education. She really likes to co-create programs and projects that bring people together for a purpose. She looks forward to working alongside other passionate people and collectively continuing to build healing, empowering, and prosperous spaces.
